So Day Of The Dead is coming up and I’ve been seeing some posts on tumblr concerning white people celebrating it as appropriation and so I just have a question for everyone out of curiosity.
I’m white passing but am part Mexican and also have always been surrounded by and celebrated the culture as a child since I Live in LA. Personally, what do you guys think of someone like me celebrating/ participating and/or wearing Sugar Skull make up? Would it be offensive to you? Or do you think anyone can celebrate as a way of showing appreciation for the culture and meaning of the holiday?
Idk I’m just curious on others’ views but I’m going to celebrate regardless as it holds importance to me.
Thanks for your input :)
